    Adopted by God
Galatians 4:5-7 5 God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children. 6 And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.” 7 Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir. . A benefit of the cross is that God adopts us into His presence. The Father is the emphasis of adoption not us. It emphasizes His love, mercy, grace, etc. God wants us to experience His embrace and triune love. Through adoption God allows us to live in His presence here on earth and into eternity. Hebrews 2:10 lets us know that through Jesus God is bringing many people into His glory (His presence) God has adopted you in Christ. Enjoy living as God’s adopted, Pastor Greg

    Friend of God

Proverbs 3:32b, he (God) offers his friendship to the godly.

One of the benefits of the Cross of Jesus Christ is that Jesus’ followers are friends of God. The Bible records people that were God’s friends; e.g., Lazarus, John 11:3, Abraham, James 2:23 and Moses, Exodus 33:11a. Romans 5:10-11 state that our friendship with God was restored by the death of Jesus, and that we should celebrate that God calls us His friends. Two things that keep us from living like we are friends of God are: 1) church hornets and 2) difficult circumstances. Church hornets are people that use their words to destroy their fellow church friends (Proverbs 11:9). Trying circumstances can cause us to believe that God does not care about us. Job 29:4 speaks about this truth. We must allow Romans 5:10-11 to speak louder than the church hornets or difficult circumstances. God offers us His friendship to us. May we not disrespect Him by not believing that we are His friends, Pastor Greg
